Clubs and Organizations
All of the excitement of college. None of the grades.
So tell us, what’s your “thing?” What’s your sport, your art, your greatest talent or your latest curiosity? At the College of Charleston, we have an active student club or organization for just about every “thing” you can think of.
College of Charleston students are film buffs, black belts, environmentalists, deejays and volunteers. We’ve formed more than 240 student clubs and organizations where you can make new friends, learn from others, serve the community, share your talents, and best of all try something totally new.
Our sport clubs are the perfect place to release your inner athlete and often make for a great excuse to hang out at the beach. Or, you can experience hands-on media training with CisternYard Media, an organization that controls our campus television studio, radio station, the newsroom and our award-winning literary magazine, Miscellany.
Our students are also dedicated to service. Sign up for Habitat for Humanity, Alternative Spring Break or the always-rockin’, never-stoppin’ Charleston Miracle (a dance marathon fundraiser). Along with other students, members of the 25 national fraternities and sororities on campus spend serious time volunteering with community groups when they’re not planning for Greek Week.
College is a great place to meet people with similar backgrounds or hang out with a whole new crowd. Whatever your preference, we have dozens of religious, international and multicultural organizations to serve our diverse student body.
And even though you won’t earn credit, academic organizations like the Archeology Club, Hispanic Latino Club and the Student Finance and Investment Club are great places to learn and network with other smart, motivated students.
