Testing and Self-Screening

While implementing testing protocols for our campus community offers no guarantee that we will not experience positive cases on campus, we must do everything in our power to protect the health and safety of our campus community, to limit the possibility of virus spread and to obtain baseline data that will inform our decision-making as we move through the semester.

Therefore, out of an abundance of caution and to provide greater peace of mind to members of our campus community as we prepare to begin the academic year, the College has adopted the following protocols for COVID-19 testing.

Random testing

The College will also conduct random testing periodically throughout the fall semester.

Randomly selected groups of students, faculty and staff may be asked to go for testing on-campus or at a nearby off-campus location. Details on random testing will be announced soon.

The College will require a daily health self-screening, based on CDC guidelines, for everyone who plans to be on campus. This protocol will either be done through a phone-based app or an alternative method and will require that a person answer a short set of health-oriented questions every day that he/she/they intends to be on campus.

If the answers result in a failure of the screening, students should reach out to Student Health Services for further guidance. Faculty and staff should reach out to their supervisor and their primary care provider for further guidanceIn either case, individuals who fail the daily screening are prohibited from being on campus or at College gatherings until cleared by campus officials.
