Cases
a student or employee who has been documented with a positive COVID-19 test result. Repeated cases are counted once per isolation period. The “percent of the students” shown in italics represents the number of unique student cases divided by the total student population.
Isolation period
The 10-day period starting when a person’s COVID-19 symptoms began.

Active case
a case who is currently within the isolation period on the reporting date.
New Cases per Day
the number of cases entered on the reporting day; new cases could be active or inactive depending on the notification. For example, a student who reports to the College on September 25th that he/she received a positive COVID-19 result dated September 1st is inactive on the reporting date because it was reported after the 10-day isolation period ended. A student who reports to the College on September 25th that he/she received a positive COVID-19 result dated September 23rd is active on the reporting date.

On- or Off-Campus
On- or Off-Campus describes the location where an active case or contact student is residing during the isolation or quarantine time period.

Total Cases to Date
the sum of all cases reported, both active and inactive. The daily counts of the total cases to date for students can be seen on the “New Cases per Day” line graph.

Contacts
a student or employee who has been in close contact to someone with a positive COVID-19 test result. Repeated contacts are counted once per quarantine period. The “percent of the students” shown in italics represents the number of unique student contacts divided by the total student population.
Quarantine period
The 14-day period starting when a person was exposed
Active contact
a contact who is currently within the quarantine period on the reporting date

Total Contacts to Date
the sum of all contacts tracked, both active and inactive.
