Why study data science at the College of Charleston?

The College's program is the very first undergraduate data science program in the United States. This interdisciplinary program combines mathematics and computer science to gather and analyze data. You can focus on biomedical fields, business analytics, digital humanities and more.

  • Hands-On Learning

    Our program boasts a strong mix of hands-on laboratory and theoretical classes. You will receive a personalized and exceptional educational experience. You'll also have many opportunities to participate in undergraduate research with your professors.

    Study Abroad

    With the Department of Hispanic Studies, we co-sponsor a study abroad program. You can travel to Trujillo, Spain to study data science in an international context.

  • Senior Project

    You'll complete a semester-long capstone software development project. This project will synthesize all you have learned with the input and guidance of an industry client and a faculty supervisor.

  • Location

    Charleston is the Silicon Harbor. There are more than 400 tech companies in the region. This provides you with numerous opportunities for research, internships and hands-on learning.
