Ticket Information Frequently Asked Questions

  • I am working full time and can’t make the grad fair or the TD-Arena box office times—how can I get my tickets?

A: If you are in Charleston and working full-time, you should ask your supervisor to be able to take an hour at lunch, arrive late one day or leave early one afternoon so you can go by the TD Arena ticket office when they are open.

  • Can my tickets be mailed to me?

A:  No, we cannot mail tickets to anyone regardless of circumstances.

  • Can my parents/spouse/friend pick up my tickets for me?

A:  No, you must pick up your tickets at the TD Arena box office.  You must have a picture ID (your CofC ID card or a valid driver’s license) and you must sign to indicate that you have received your tickets.

  • How can I get extra tickets--Tell me about the raffles?

A:  The senior class events usually have a raffle for an extra ticket, so attending those events gives you an opportunity to get an extra ticket.  There will also be extra tickets given away at the rehearsal, so you should make sure you attend the rehearsal.

  • Can I get tickets to walk in both ceremonies if I am eligible for both?  2 majors one is AM one is PM?

A:   No.  Graduates who are eligible to walk in either the morning or afternoon ceremony must choose which ceremony they plan to participate in and then get tickets for that ceremony.  You cannot attend both ceremonies, so you cannot get tickets for both ceremonies.

  • Does my handicapped guest require a ticket?

A:  Yes, all guests who sit in the Cistern Yard must have a ticket.  There will be an area reserved for handicapped guests and one family member can sit with the guest in that reserved section.  This section is right inside the gates on St. Philips Street, which is the handicapped entrance.

  • If my 5 yr old niece sits on her mother/father’s lap the whole time does she need a ticket?

A:  Yes, all guests over the age of 6 months who sit in the Cistern Yard must have a ticket.  We strongly recommend that parents with children take advantage of the indoor, satellite locations which do not require tickets.  The indoor, satellite locations are air condition, close to restrooms, and have room for parents to be able to let children walk or move around during the ceremony.  Remember, the ceremony is approximately 2 ½ hours long, plus guests arrive as much as an hour or hour and a half before the ceremony begins.  That is a very long time for a baby or small child to have to stay in a parent lap.

We will have a “kid friendly” area in Stern Center 205 where children can play and color.  All children must be accompanied by an adult.  We will have a computer and projector showing the ceremony live just like the satellite locations.

  • Where do I go to get tickets—can you give me directions?

A:  You can pick up your tickets at the ticket office of the TD Arena at 301 Meeting Street.  When you enter the TD Arena, the ticket office is immediately in front of you.  The ticket office is open 9:00-5:00, M-F.

  • I lost my tickets, can I get another set?

A:  No.  Unfortunately we cannot give graduates a second set of tickets if the originals are lost.  Your family can watch you graduate from the indoor, satellite locations which do not require tickets for admission.
