COVID-19 Coronavirus 2019

The College of Charleston continues to closely monitor the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic for its ongoing and potential impacts on our university community. The health and safety of our university community is our top priority, and we are taking appropriate actions to support our students, employees and the surrounding community.

College officials continue to communicate information and updates to the campus community through campus e-mail, the CougarAlert emergency notification system, the emergency management website, virtual town hall meetings, social media and the university news website.

In support of global efforts to reduce the transmission of COVID-19, the online and remote instruction period that began in Spring Semester will continue through the end of Maymester and Summer School. President Andrew Hsu established several working groups to develop recommendations for the resumption of in-person classes in Fall 2020. The College developed a plan to enable employees to begin returning to campus in phases over the summer and students in the fall.

All campus events and group activities are canceled through . These restrictions include events at the College that are not College-sponsored, including conferences and social gatherings. New student and family orientation sessions will be held online this summer.
