Commencement Ceremony Webcast

Commencement at the College of Charleston is a special time. For decades, the spring commencement ceremonies have taken place in the Cistern Yard where ancient live oak trees draped with Spanish moss set the stage, and Randolph Hall – the College’s oldest building — provides a fitting backdrop.

Crossing the Cistern as graduates do in the spring is a symbolic tradition at the College. At our spring commencement ceremonies, graduates wear white. Traditionally men and women choose to wear white dresses and carry roses or white dinner jackets with red rose boutonnieres. Winter commencement ceremonies are held indoors at TD Arena, and the dress code is black attire. Traditionally men and women choose to wear black dresses and carry red roses or black tuxedos. For both our spring and winter ceremonies, our Graduate School candidates wear a traditional cap and gown. We look forward to having you and your guests join us for this momentous occasion.
