December Commencement Parking & Guest Drop-off

Graduates and guests for the Winter Commencement Ceremony may park at one of the public garages near the TD Arena. The closest garages are the Gaillard Garage, located at 32 Alexander Street, and the George Garage, located at 34 St. Philip Street. The rate for each of these locations is $1 per each half hour or portion thereof, with a daily maximum of $18 per calendar day (subject to change). Accessible parking for those with disability placards / license plates is available in any of the nearby garages free of charge. The College of Charleston surface parking lots will be available only to faculty, staff, and students working the ceremony.

Drop off for guests with limited mobility, or who are using mobility devices, is on Meeting Street directly in front of the main entrance to TD Arena at 301 Meeting Street. For additional accessibility related details, please visit the Accessibility Information page.

Graduates and guests are also welcome to use alternative transportation (e.g., walk, bike, carpool, ride CARTA buses, use car services).

Parking for the Spring Commencement Ceremonies will be available at the following three CofC garages:

The rate for each of these locations is $1 per each half hour or portion thereof, with a daily maximum of $18 per calendar day (subject to change). Accessible parking for those with disability placards / license plates is available in any of the nearby garages free of charge. The College of Charleston surface parking lots will be available only to faculty, staff, and students working the ceremony.

Drop off for guests with limited mobility, or who are using mobility devices, is at the side entrance to the Cistern Yard at approximately 54 St. Philips Street. (Signs will be posted on St. Philip Street between Calhoun and George Streets). This is an accessible (ramped) entrance located at approximately diagonally across from Simons Center for the Arts (54 St. Philips St). Only individuals in need of this accessible entrance and those who will remain with them (see “Accessible Seating” ) will be permitted to enter at this location.  All other guests should enter the Cistern through Porter’s Lodge on George Street. Accessible parking for those with disability placards / license plates is available in any of the nearby garages free of charge.
