Most degree-seeking adult students enter with some college experience. You should meet requirements for and apply as a transfer student. Official transcripts must be provided.

If you have no prior college, but have earned a high school diploma or the equivalent, you may be required to enter as a non-degree student and complete placement tests.

Non-Degree-Seeking
Adult students (21 years of age or older) may apply under this status:

  • To establish a current academic record
  • To prepare for graduate and professional school

Persons previously denied admission to the College of Charleston are not eligible to apply for non-degree admissions. Applicants should be eligible to return to previous colleges/universities attended. Official transcripts may be required to enroll in some courses. Official transcripts will be required for evaluation of transfer credits for non-degree status students who plan to apply for degree status at College of Charleston to facilitate accurate academic planning.

Students are not eligible for Federal Financial Assistance in this admission status.
